Chuck Berry & Nelly support St. Louis for 2012 Bid

Chuck Berry & St. Louis Mayor Francis G. SlaySinging For DNC Support: On Thursday night, two of St. Louis’ favorite sons, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer, Chuck Berry and Grammy-winning Rap star Nelly, added their voices to the chorus of support for the city’s 2012 bid. Here (left to right) Berry gives a hopeful embrace to St. Louis City Mayor Francis G. Slay.

St. Louis is one of four finalist cities for the convention. Hundreds gathered for a free concert and rally in Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis to support the DNC coming to the St. Louis region. If St. Louis is chosen, it’s estimated that more than 50,000 people may attend, which would become an economic boom for area hotels, bars, restaurants, and local transportation services, etc. Slay was joined by St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, and Cardinals voice, Mike Shannon, among others.
